Re: NH 851 Big Round BalerPosted by Pete-mi on October 01, 2002 at 20:38:17 from (198.77.50.184): In Reply to: NH 851 Big Round Baler posted by Jerry A. on September 30, 2002 at 07:34:17:
My dad sold NH equipment from the 60's to late 80's and always had good luck with the hay equipment. On the round balers the main thing to check for is what shape the chain is in. On the late 851's NH installed a automatic chain oiler. When ever you opened the door to eject a bale it would automaticly oil about 1 to 2 ft of the chain. This helped on the wear. The earlier units are good to. I think the oiler systems are still offered as parts. If you need to oil it manualy it is best to oil when you are finished baleing as the oil will penetrate inside the chain rollers better. We still have some manuals and parts if you need something. If you have any other questions on the balers give me a email and I will try to help.
