dear swamp: Well . . . if it says its a 434 on the serial # plate, must be. Roy in UK message says it was made in the UK. Could be. Maybe IH used that model designation overseas. Anyway, he seemed to know. Sounds like a goodeal. Be sure you get owners manual though. Try Intertec site. Their stuff is good/complete so long as you know a bit about mechanics. They won't let you do anything too out of line workin on it. Should be a lifetime tractor if you keep it up. I have an old Super C which I would keep forever, except need a loader and hang a hoe on the back. Its just too light for that (when digging post holes the whole tractor shakes!). So . . . I'm about to bite the bullet and buy a new one. Good luck. Try Interec for info. JEH
