I have had one axle break. A good machine shop can reweld and re-heat treat. Back in the early eighties there was a change in drive axle,cv joints, and final drive housing design. This upgade ran $2000+ in the early 80,s. This tractor is very tough for it's size but has cost me more than its worth in repairs. Repair it, sell it, upsize it but stay with 4x4.
