Hi,
Here in Ireland Valmet have been on market for
about 10 or 12 years.
Have their own brand engines. The engines are
positioned over the front axle and clutch is
connected to gearbox by a short driveshaft.
Have an excellent reputation for reliability and
are said to be very easy for mechanics to work on
if the need should arise.
Due to the forward placed engine you get
excellent traction.
I have a JD 3140 (same as 2950 in US) and a Fiat
90/90, both 4wd.
Love the JD but if I was buying again the Valmet
would come out on top!
The company now calls itself Valtra, and they
have been building military arms since the 1920's.
I had a friend working for me last year and he
had an 8400, best traction I have seen!
Try and get a drive on one, see for yourself.
