When nobody moves anymore on price, buy. Takes about a week. Equipment dealers are much more independent than car dealers, have a lot more freedom to set price. What I prefer is to look at a used equipment guide, so I know what a 1 or 2 year old piece sells for and then call the dealer and ask what they have that they want to deal on.
