Be careful Chet about getting the absolute lowest price, even though it might be the cheapest price up front it will bite you in the end.
Tractors are a little bit different than cars, you are buying the dealers service also so if you go to another area to buy a tractor for a few dollars less money guess where you have to take it for warrenty service??? Not the local shop to be sure, you will be refered to the purchaseing dealer everytime.
I have ran across this here and had some mad folks because we would do the warrenty repair but would charge them shop rate for the repair and not send them to the front of the line for warrenty work like we do for our own customers.
That is between you and the dealer you purchased the tractor from, he/they are responsible for honoring the warrenty, not the local guy you did not buy from.
My advice is find the dealer in your area with the best service department and appears to want to give good customer support to you and buy from him.
We have some dealers in our region who will sell tractors for dealers cost and folks will travel 350 miles or more to save a few bucks. When a problem arises the customer is left holding the bag, so to speak.
Now, are prices negotiable???
Sure they are most of the time, just make sure you are not getting "too" good of a deal so to speak.
Hope this helps,
K
