Re: Alternator on SAME 85 lepord exportPosted by Zvonimir on November 05, 2002 at 23:55:51 from (195.29.177.218): In Reply to: Alternator on SAME 85 lepord export posted by ron on November 05, 2002 at 19:33:33:
If alternator is OK, check cable between B+ and connection on starters B+ (about 6mm2 from alt to big cable 50mm2 from +battery on starter ). Can be bad contact in cable lugs. Then check cable from D+ (thin wire around regulator) to one pole on bulb. Another pole of bulb must be connected to key switch. When you turn on keyswitch, and motor is not running, bulb MUST BE ON. If is not, or you haven't it, repair cable and put bulb (3-4W). For this alternators you need start excitation via bulb. When engine is running, voltage must be cca 13.5 to 14.4 V. If is not, try to bridge B+ and D+ on alternator VIA BULB or tester with bulb for a second. If alternator is OK, you'll se maybe short flash, and voltage will increase. This is just for test, and if is succesfull, do above described. Be carefull with belt when motor is running, and short circuit. Never disconnect battery when motor is running. If is necessary, remove battery, turn lights on or disconnect D+ from alternator, and THEN pull tractor to start. If you need add explain, ask me. Good luck!
