I purchased a 5105 2wd in July. I was looking at the 990 4wd, but after talking to many others, I went for the heavier more powerful tractor. It has a 521 loader and mx6 cutter. I rented a Kubota before purchasing to get feel for how much machine to get. A compact would do the work but it would take twice as long. I find that the fuel useage is about 1 gal per hour on mowing. I think that it's pretty economical. This is my first experience with a farm tractor, I've used a Bobcat a lot and I find I use the 5105 like one and it's not. But it's close. I can get the 5105 stuck just as quick as a Bobcat. The 521 is really heavy duty and works well. I wish that it had a little more power in the hydraulics. There again I'm comparing to the Bobcat. I have been clearing a lot of 2-3" Sweetgums, etc and the cutter makes short work of them. The only problem I've had was that one of the loader hyd hoses was not tight and it blew an o ring. The hoses were not clamped tight up to the undercarriage and tended to catch on trees and stuff. It can mangle up a rock pretty well.
