Re: 1985 FORD TRACTOR 5610 NEED SMALLER TIRESPosted by Juan Artigas on December 01, 2002 at 07:58:24 from (212.73.61.57): In Reply to: 1985 FORD TRACTOR 5610 NEED SMALLER TIRES posted by ANTHONY on November 26, 2002 at 08:01:35:
The tires 16.9 x 38 have a static loaded radius of 769 m.m. from the center rear axle to floor. If you buy a smaller Turf tires, radius 650 m.m., for example, all gear ratios will be affected and you will have forwward speeds reduce at the same proportion, as is reduced the tires size, according to the formula: 650 / 769 = 0,845 factor reducer. If we have, in 3ª gear, at 1900 engine speed, 3,563 km.h. The speed reduction will be the folloing: 3,563 x 0,845 = 3,010 km. h. Keep in mind the horizontal position of the tractor.- Could be convinient to change the fron wheels, in function of the aesthetical point of view. Greetings from Spain.
