I own a Case 580C backhoe. The dealer tells me that I should use only the Case brand TCH hydraulic oil, which is of course more expensive. I can pick hydraulic oil at Sam's or the Auto store for a little more than half the price per 5 gallon bucket.
What is the real deal? Do I really benefit from using the Case brand oil? If this were a car, I'd say of course not. What recommendations do you have about using cheaper hydraulic oils? What weights or additives are needed?
