Re: another question re. hoursPosted by JDGenII_dave_ny on March 09, 2003 at 18:29:01 from (24.59.61.54): In Reply to: another question re. hours posted by tab on March 01, 2003 at 11:59:55:
I have heard that 600 to 1000 hours per year is not unusual for a farm tractor, but I would expect that a compact tractor not used commercially might get less than that. They generally figure with construction equipment in daily use, 2000 hours per year is not unusual. Re the prices, one time in 1999, I saw at a dealer, a circa 1980 Ford 1710 4WD with loader with 12,000 hours on the clock and they were asking $9,000 for it. I meanm, Ford is a good tractor, but nine grand for anything that size with twelve thousand hours is a lot. I think that small tractors cost lots more per pound than the big ones.
