Re: JD 2350 3-point hitchPosted by G-MAN on March 10, 2003 at 10:59:49 from (206.106.139.74): In Reply to: JD 2350 3-point hitch posted by JDGenII_dave_ny on March 09, 2003 at 18:19:45:
Dave, the chattering problem isn't all that uncommon on various Deere tractors. It's mainly due to air in the hydraulic system, and I'm betting that after the initial up-down cycle, that problem goes away. Does it? You might double-check your hydraulic oil level to make sure it's up to the correct level. The settling problem could be due to a number of factors, such as a leaking rockshaft valve, leaking piston seals and so forth. Ocassionally debris will get in the rockshaft cylinder and cause scoring, which will allow the hitch to leak down. About all you can do would be to rebuild the rockshaft valve and see if that cures the problem. If it doesn't, the problem is likely in the cylinder itself. All hitches will settle eventually, and there are specs for how fast it should happen at what oil temp and so forth. If you have any more questions or anything specific I can help you with, feel free to email me.
