Years ago, a JD dealer told me that the 30 series (1630-1830-2130-3130) were the last JD built in Canada. It was at the beginning of the 40 series and they were built in Germany(3140 CDN/2940 US); I am not sure about the 1840, and 2140 sold in Canada. The 3130 was the largest of the series. I do not know where in Canada, but Ontario is logical. I do not have my JD historical books around but if my memory is good the same 30 series was also sold in Argentina and possibly elsewhere in the world. At the same time, there was a different 30 series in USA; US 1530 and 2030 corresponds to the CDN 1630 and 1830. But the CDN had no equivalent to the 2630(276 CID); in Canada, the 2130(239 CID engine) was available. The 4000 series of that time were the same in Canada and US.
