I am not familiar with deere hydraulics, but seems that what David said could well be correct. Something has to give. If the pump is making flow, then the system is losing the oil before the front pump. Also, when they say "within specs", how carefully do they check? Some specs can give a variance of 2-3 gpm, or say 10%. There could also be a spec variance of 10% for low pressure bleed off in the system. With a charge pressure on the low side of spec, and bleed down on the high side (added together say 20-25%), and considering that most charge pumps only supply about 20% more than the high pressure pump can move, this might cause the momentary cavitation. This would be especially true with worm oil. The moral here... check the flow very carefully, especially if this is a high hour machine, where normal wear would be expected. Small inaccuracies can make a big difference. Just my thoughts.
