If changing speed is your game, then I would assume you would have to change the stub, if it has 1000 rmp output at all. You could make an adapter for the splines, but that won't change the speed, and would be clunky to work with. Too much vibration, drive line hop (because now the shaft is a lot shorter), assuming it would 'scope in that much. I don't know much about Kubota's, but most all manfacturers use a stub setup. To change, head downhill a bit, shut engine off (or the gears could fall down when you pull the shaft), take the snap ring off, and pull the stub shaft out. Align the splines for the 1000 shaft, and slide the stub in, put snap ring on, and ready to go. This help any?
