Ken, I own a 445. Mine has a screen which is cleanable under the starter. I have cleaned by taking off two bolts on cover and washing out screen. I fill the hyd. system through small plug just in front of gearshift. You will need to have the right funnel to fill here without spilling. If tractor is left in weather I was told hyd. fluid will get milky overtime. I leave mine out most of time and it does pickup moisture so I watch and keep changed. I know of no other hyd. filter but there may be one. This has been a very reliable tractor for me. One thing to watch on these is power steering pump leaking into crankcase. I think this is common problem on these. I fixed mine by replacing seal. It is some work to remove pump, but not real bad. This tractor has two hyd. pumps on front of motor just under injection pump. The larger one that pionts to front is pump for lift and tractor hyd. The smaller one bolted opposite is the power steering pump. Follow your hyd. lines out and you will see. Watch crankcase level closely, if you gain in crankcase then check dipstick on hyd. to see if you loose there. Then it could be one of these pumps leaking into crankcase. Hope this helps.
