Travis, Having a 74 966/w TA I can hole heartility recomend this tractor. I have a 2350 IH loader on it too. I did replace the Clutch,P Plate,throw-out bearing & TA 3 yrs ago. It is a strong rig for farming. For loader work it is good, but not as good as a tractor/w a wet clutch! Got my clutch,TA and stuff from Abilene Machine @ Abilene KS--800-255-0337. This ol tractor of mine is an open station too.
As Hugh McKay will tell you keep the Clutch and TA in adjustment. Get a shop manuel use the specs they say. Hugh has had many 66 series tractors and put near 10,000 hrs on them and only replaced one. Ask him! This is from my memory of his previous posts.
I can't speak to the 86 series but belive they are just as good as the 66s.
If you are refering to the Anteater 4x4 IH don't bother. The ones I was around were not liked, at all! My $.02 Hope this helps!
Later,
John A.
