Allison automaticPosted by steve farmer on November 17, 2003 at 18:45:29 from (199.199.236.48):
I am wondering if anyone has had experience with an Allison automatic in general and one in Steiger in particular. I know of a Steiger Industrial Panther (yellow and black). They were set up for running on a scraper with the addition of the Allison and heavy duty Eaton axles. It has a Cat 3406 B. The auto would be nice on my scaper (15 yd) but I worry about the transmission's durability and the cost of a rebuild. I don't know the number of the transmisson. Any insight will be much appreciated. Steve
