Re: JD 2550 4X4 HYD. PROBLEMPosted by wayne on November 24, 2003 at 19:51:43 from (216.168.109.74): In Reply to: JD 2550 4X4 HYD. PROBLEM posted by TOM K on November 19, 2003 at 18:08:12:
First tom i have to ask what kind of service warranty does the shop have. If they did that work and it still doesn't work i would be taking it back. You tractor has a closed center hydraulic system. So if theres a leak in the system it take oil from everthing else to keep the system constant.Your steering gets priority over everthing. So hence the situation. You could have many leaks in the system. Starting right at the steering.Possible leaks are hand pump, rockshaft, scv, mfwd, loader valve, pto. Also you havelines within the transmission that can leak due to o-ring failure or cracks in the lines. also jd had a problem with aline moveing out of place and causing hydraulic problems. This is why you need to get a copy of the workorder and see if they did anything else besides make easy money.
