Mannheim built 20,30,40,50 & 55 tractors tended to be excellent. Pull the trans filter and make certain it isn't full of brake/clutch friction material or metal filings. On occassion some tinkerer may have added SAE 90wt gear oil to the hydraulic/transmission system. It's a problems with every brand of tractor out there.
