I've been doing some head scratching wondering what the JD engineers and the bean counters came up with?
The six cylinder 6615 and 6603 both have a shorter wheelbase of 94" in MFWD compared to the longer 112" 7220?
Did Deere stick a six cylinder in the four cylinder 6000 series chassis for the 6615? The 6603 and 6615 are so fundamentally different in clutch, transmission, pto etc that the common length must be just a coincidence?
The chassis the six cylinder Mannheim 3130,3140 and so one grew into were a pretty fair 50/55 series machine. I would jump at one of those in a minute instead of any of the new 5000/5010/5020.
I didn't see any 6405 & 6605 tractors? was that a typo and 6403 & 6605 was intended? Are the 6403/6603 the Mexican assembled 55 series Mannheim's that were discontinued for the 5000 series misfits? And if they really are Mannheim 55's than an aftermarket cab/rops could be rounded up pretty quick.
Is it possible the smaller 5105 and 5205 is really our much loved and missed versions of the fine Mannheim 2155 in disguise? The descendent of the 1120/1130 etc?
I've been guilty of ignoring the 03/05/15 tractors. Wish I had known sooner, all these years of crying about the 5000 series replacements when the proven Mannheim's were snuck back into the market? I wish some Mr X from Mother Deere had made it plain sooner.
Maybe there is someone at Deere listening after all? I need a new machine for my hobby farm and had been hesitating about the old high hour Mannheim20,30 40,50 & 55 $erie$ that people won't trade in or sell. Maybe I can still walk into a Deere dealership and get a new one in a 5105/5205/6403/6603?
