Hey John,

I'll be at FMS Sat about 10, staying until they run us out about 5.

My understanding of fuels is that highway diesel as low sulfur on road, post early 90's has the same lubricating properties of pre early 90's kerosene. High sulfur (sold only as tax exempt off road, red dye) has all of the 'old' lubircating properties.

Reasons being, catalytic process of removing minute traces of sulfur to meet current (but not near future) sulfur content catalyzes some of the heavy base oils in the diesel along with the sulfur. That's one reason a gallon of low sulfur fuel is lighter than high sulfur and MPG is lower.

That's the why, now the what. I keep Power Service in my bulk tank at the farm. If I need fuel at the house I just bring a can when I'm coming that way (like you farms scattered all over creation and dont live on any of them).

It does make a difference. Last steam cleaner I had was a mid 80's. When they changed kero (at the same time) I started having all kinds of injector troubles. Had to start cutting a little #2 into.
