deutz diesel in a gehl skid loader

I just purchased a model 4635 gehl skidloader. When turning the switch ignition off the unit continues to run for 30 seconds before shutting off. Is this the common shut off procedure or is something wrong? If so what can I do to fix it? Thanks for your time.
