bobcat 743 hydraulic question

I bought a 743 that the story goes , it was running and a hyd. line burst and then it wouldn't move anymore ,the motor seems to run good , but the best I can tell the hyd. pump is making a heck of a noise,
now if this thing is running and the hyd. fluid runs out, would the pump burn up that fast?
and also does the pump bolt to the motor or does it just slide into a shaft hole and the front bolts are all that holds it?
