Small world isn't it. I hear ya on the fuel. The neighbours have a 4440 Deere on the forage harvestor, and all I can say is I am glad I'm not buying.... 8+ gallons/hour. Don't think the new Deere's are quite so bad though. Kubota's might not be too bad either. If you watch, you can get the 8x8 tranny on the Kubota that I mentioned on the Ford. Same box, joint development with Ford and Kubota, and very very nice to work with, especially on a loader. All I can say is watch the weight, as you would want something a bit heavier, especially working on the hills. Good luck with whatever decision you make. Nice talking to ya.
