Re: Need a Good Small TractorPosted by Steve Hansen on July 09, 2000 at 08:54:11 from (208.180.32.12): In Reply to: Need a Good Small Tractor posted by Tom Detweiler on July 05, 2000 at 13:09:58: Tom, You did not tell us if you are interested in new or used. I am going to assume used because this is an old tractor page. From what you described you seem to need a small tractor with a low center of gravity. A lot of the smaller grey market Kabotas, Mitsubishis, and Yanmars were originally designed to work in rice fields. Although they are small they are high in proportion to their width and therefore not particularly stable on hill sides. You need to keep your eyes open for a "low boy" model. The IH 234 is a good example. About 16-18 deisel HP, Cat I 3 point, and low to the ground. FWD was an option. Kabota made a similiar tractor at one time and I am sure there are others. The trick to finding one is to keep your eyes open, vist used tractor dealers, and spread the word. If you are patient, one will turn up. Good luck, Steve
