Very similar, 7 series is turbo, uses different materials in piston assemblies, different gear cut in the transmission, oil cooler, etc. Also, as already stated extra fuel capacity (on most configurations). Between my dad and I we have 5, 7 series tractors and 1-5 series. We love em, just added the last two this year, a 7600 and a 7610 cab. I looked at the 6 series units hard but most were the same $$ as the 7's. We've been moving this way from Case/DB's just now finished. We've found them reliable, economical to operate and repair, and plenty of power to do everything asked.
