JD Garden Tractor

I have a new John Deere 335 garden tractor
and I have a question on the choke. The
choke is spring loaded. You need to hold
the choke manually and while starting the
tractor and continue holding this until the
engine warms up. It seems kinda of a pain
to me. But that's what the dealership say.
But I called JD up and they seem to think
not. So what is it? I bought this for ease
of use for my wife. Maybe I should sell it
and just buy a mower for my Antique tractor.
