Re: Need High PTO power Slow reversePosted by ChrisL on October 12, 2004 at 18:19:47 from (216.254.225.95): In Reply to: Need High PTO power Slow reverse posted by Greg in Alaska on October 10, 2004 at 09:40:15: A few options to consider: I have creeper transmission in White 2-75 (75 hp) it does a good job blowing snow because it does go very slowly in reverse..... the front PTO may be an option but I don't think they will be easy to find either best option I have come up - buy enough PTO horsepower that will do what you need and then leave the tractor in neutral - move it with a different means other than sticking it in gear - here a couple of examples..... you know how fertilizer wagons or acre meters have a small tire that pushes against a large load carrying tire and that drives things....well rig up a hydraulic motor to a small tire like that and have that tire rigged so it spins the large tractor tires - not a lot of traction maybe - but man oh man will you be able to go as slow as you want...... an easy option: -just push it with something else that does go slow like a smaller tractor with a creeper transmission next option - some silage baggers etc use a winch - so leave the tractor in neutral again and have a cable reel in the speed you want to go - kind of like getting pulled out of the mud..... some things to consider anyway
