I see the new Belarus tractors in the 80HP (8345) and 100HP(9345) sizes have the straight front axles with planetary gears like John Deere, Case IH, New Holland, etc. Nice improvement over the old dropdown axles. Also they have a joystick control for the hydraulics mounted on the right side, easy to reach unlike the old ones, which you had to grow longer arms to reach the hydraulic levers. They also have just one 3pt. control lever right next to the seat. I really like the engines on them, good tough motors and very fuel efficient. The dealer quoted me $28,500 for an 8345. Price is really getting up there, close to a good used MFWD Deere, Case-IH, New Holland. I think I would have to get a lot for my 825 on trade to ever consider doing this. My official guide book shows the cash resale value of a 1993 John Deere 6400 (about the same size as an 8345 Belarus) with MFWD is $27,299. I think you would loose a lot more off the resale value of the Belarus a couple of years down the road.
